Be ready to get scammed if you have anything to do with the owner, Mr Nicholas Rajula!
I have contacted Mr Nicholas Rajula about receiving 3 guests of mine at Kisumu airport and taking them for a visit to see mama Sara Obama at her village, have lunch at his hotel, visit the area and back to the airport. Mr Rajula, who is an owner of KOGELO VILLAGE RESORT, had promised to arrange a Toyota Prado with a driver and had asked me for 10,500 ksh. I communicated with Mr Nicholas Rajula directly, as well as with a woman named Patricia, who is his employee. I insisted to have all this confirmed in writing (to avoid any misunderstanding), and it was, but it did not help. I send Mr Rajula 5k by M-Pesa (0722679999) as a deposit, and another 5.5k the day of the car hire, to the same number (I have that documented as well). Upon return from the trip, my guests informed me that they were charged 110 USD just before they had to leave for their flight, by Mr Nicholas Rajula's employee Patricia, which she confirmed by SMS. They had no way of communicating with me. I spoke to Patricia on the phone, and she assured me this was just a miscommunication, and the money will be refunded shortly. However, as I shortly found out, Mr Nicholas Rajula had no intention giving back this money! My numerous phone calls and SMS were met with yelling and cursing.
I do understand that with the end of Barack Obama's final term Mr Nicholas Rajula's novelty is drying out, but that is no reason to abuse the trust of tourists and steal money from people bringing him business.
